So, my brand new fabric MTB shoes (Adidas Trail Cross) could probably benefit from a bit of waterproofing.

I have a 1l bottle of:

under the sink.

Any reason i shouldn't use it on my footwear?

Any real reason i need a specific shoe proofer?

I'm thinking of diluting what i have and spraying on & rubbing in a bit.

Should work fine. Just give them a good scrub/brush with cold water first so you find the bits that aren’t already water repellent, then go over with the TX Direct.

I’ve used it on fleeces both wash-in and spray on and it works like magic. Fleece plus windproof, both with TX Direct is essentially waterproof. Quicker drying once wet too.
