If you are one or have tried the bike how does it handle with 100mm forks? i know its designed for longer but there would be some occasions when i'd like to run forks shorter.
I would be interested to know how it feels like too but with a 130mm fork, what would be the head angle? and BB height?
With a 100mm fork (460mm axle crown)
Sagged geometry (20mm sag):-
BB height = 11.8in or 1.3in drop
Head angle = 69.4deg
Seat angle (16in) = 74.9deg
Top tube = 22.9in (slightly shorter effective top tube length).
Static:-
BB height = 12.1in or 1.1in drop
Head angle = 68.4deg
Seat angle = 74.8deg
Top tube = 22.95in.
most of the stats are quoted for a 130mm fork i think.
stats quoted are for a sagged 140mm fork.
Quite a lot on our geometry page here - http://www.ragleybikes.com/geometry/
Including "unsagged" geometry (at the bottom) which will allow you to compare to other peoples unsagged geometry (Orange, and USA brands show unsagged geometry - it makes no sense to me, though it's OK if you want to measure things with your iphone against a wall...)
i have one,
aint tested it to the full yet, weather is slowin me down on it.nice angles i say.

What happens with different sag levels? At least measuring at without gives consistent measurements?
i run 130mm forks and it is great.
thanks for those extra figures there brant 🙂
oh another question to seal the deal on one of these hehe.
bb mounted chain devices, can anyone recommend one?
other than that its just deliberating over sizing.
.duncan - the Blackspire Stinger is about £20 and does all you need for a double ring set up. It is bb mounted.
I've got the Race Face Atlas FR dual ring and bash set up on my Ti which works well but is about £60 more.

With an FS bike, when you sit on it, the bike sags pretty equally front and rear, and the BB drops by the amount the sag is (roughly).
On a hardtail, just one end sags, so unsagged figures just make it look stupid, if you're designing a hardtail that has similar geometry to a freeride FS frame (when you're sat on it).
The problem is compounded by longer travel forks.
And differences in the amount of sag people run, are actually quite small, compared to the total amount of sag on a 140mm fork.
Thanks for that Ed.
Say i was to vandalize my slx triple into a single / double what would be the best way of going about it? its nothing i've really done before.
i went out for the first time today on my blue pig over to tod twas ace in the snow shame my ipod ran out when i was just leaving home 🙁 how heavy do standard spec blue pigs weigh? mine feels like a dh bike!
well, its steel, and yours has gone intense tyres on right? and what are the wheels? it all adds up.
yeh i guess so the tyres are 1.1kg each... but the wheels are quite light
and also pikes are not the lightest of things, when you consider that one nobby nic is 460g and your intense tyres are 1100 each! theres 453g in a pound, that's over 2lb per tyre!
are marzocchi 55's any lighter than pikes?
From what i can find no, 400g heavier, depending which versions of everything they are.
ata2's thats what ive bought anyways the pikes are a mates im borrowing
i doubt it will make much difference you'd be better off making the most of a set of wheels/tyres

Just replace the big ring with a bash ring. You might want to change the 32 tooth middle ring to a 36 tooth. Adjust limit screws on the front mech and shorten the chain to fit. Bingo.
There seem to be a lot of these coming up in the classifieds considering they haven't been out long, not sure they're everyones cup of tea??? Any owners shed any light on this?
Blackspire Stinger? Ah. What a good idea!

Well - I can't speak for everyone, but I know Olie's is cos he bought a Ragley Ti because he liked the geometry that much.
I know of at least two others who have done the same.
Thanks Brant, that makes sense 🙂
it is what I´m thinking about since a while....
was really close, as CRC had the christmas discounts.....mmh..?
brant, did the Ti`s really pass the CEN standards ?...there are no stickers...or more info about that...?
Ti's pass CEN, yes. I can't really say any more though as it's, er, well... But yes. They pass 🙂
brant..thanks !..good to know..
yeah i was gutted i took too long thinking and missed the crc discount but it was offset by chevin cycles facing bb and disc mount and running through the threads and offering a brew all foc could be my new not quite local but close enough lbs 🙂
mi©k- still not built it up- I put the 456 to oneside and fully stripped down and rebuilt my Blur 😀
oddball 🙂
I wish work would pay me sooner. they messed it up last month :/ very keen on getting one of these frames brant 🙂
Whens there a full suss then brant? You know thats the natural progression/next step.
Just to confirm what Brant said.
Blue Pig=ACE!!
So good I've got a Ti one too!!!!
Oh and a Blue Pig F+F for sale
