my pikes are getting a bit worse for wear and have seen some sektors priced well, any one have any experiance of them ?
Brought a pair of the coil ones this year and they have been spot on for the money. I am Mr average and anything more technical would be money wasted IMHO. Easily serviceable as well.
I echo the above. Coil U-Turns and they have been spot on.
Much better than the recons before.
Yep I sit firmly in the average camp to, what did you use previously
I had a set of 2004 Fox TALAS'S which were great but at over £200 for a service it was time to retire them. I love Fox's but I am going to be skint for the foreseeable future and being able to service them myself was a big selling point. Performance wise I don't notice them while I am blasting down a trail which as far as I am concerned is just the way it should be. Wind them down for climbing and out for going back down.
I bought a set for my missus (who is actually a very good rider), she rates them highly. I've had a quick thrash on them and I find it hard to distinguish between them and a set of RS Revelations without BB damping.
Essentially they're Rev lowers with Pike uppers. they don't have BB damping, so on repeated hits, they're not going to set the world on fire - but they're damn good value, and come in white 🙂
Very good forks at an excellent price.
I'm getting on fine with my solo air Sektors 20mm. They are light (1.75kg), stiff enough for trails, nice and active and the damping knobs offer a range of useful settings. Very good indeed for the £. Uturn would be the only improvement I would like.
Agree with Buzz, the detented compression damping is a welcome amendment to the MoCo.
'11 Coil U-Turns here. They actually seem plusher (if slightly flexier) than my '10 Lyriks on the suss bike.
Very happy. 😀
Good forks, haven't had any back with issues and upgradeable with the Blackbox dual flow rebound assembly to make them even better.
Rickon you still haven't picked your's up by the way 😀
Solo air are great forks and with the blackbox damper are even better, so much so I have total stopped looking at Fox to upgrade.:)
All you need from a trail/AM fork.
I've been looking at these and wondered if they would be an improvement over my '07 Float R's (140) which have very basic damping. Anybody care to comment or point me at some good online deals?!
mokl drop me a mail with the spec. you'd like
