My 2017 Lefty 2.0 has developed a strange issue.
When it gets warm in the sun, it locks out....
I’ve replaced the garbage Full Sprint remote and it now has the good old reliable push button PBR.
Basically, when it gets warm I need considerable force to push the big red button to unlock the fork. If I manage to do so, the fork acts like it’s half locked out.
Once back at home and cooled down it works ok again. I even took the wife’s hairdryer to it for a minute to see if I could replicate it and low and behold after a minute of warming up, it’s playing silly sods again.
Any ideas?
Not a clue, but I can tell you that a tft tuned service will cost you the guts of £130 including postage.
When mine started playing up I just shipped it to them. Came back perfect
They serviced it back in January for me. Said it needed a telescopic rebuild or something too which was odd. Cost me the best part of £300!
I’d be getting in touch with them, they may well stand over any remedial work seeing as you’ve had work done relatively recently
I’ll give them a shout on Monday. From memory they only warranty their work for 2-3 months. Fingers crossed they’ll help out.
I’ve never had a bike with so many problems before! Was supposed to be doing the Hope Valley Scott Marathon on it tomorrow. Pants.
That's crap...how long you had the bike? You kicked up a fuss with the place you bought it? You might have some 'right's you can shout about.
I once got some expensive wheels replaced even though they where way out of warranty. (They where clearly faulty) same for a really expensive castelli rain jacket that the Velcro caught and pluched itself.

i love my scalpel, and my slate. But I’ll be the first to admit that they are damn high maintenance.
Touch wood my f29 has been faultless for about 5years. Replaced a few bearings.
Spoke to TFTuned this morning. Common problem apparently. Seems some air may have migrated to somewhere it shouldn't have in the damper.
A damper service for £105 will fix it.
Funnily enough I rode the Scott MTB marathon yesterday (on my plan B bike) and got speaking to 2 other guys with a lefty 2.0. Both of which were suffering from the same thing albeit not quite as baddly as mine.
Tempted to stick a normal fork on the scalpel. Assume it's easy enough to do...
You could put a normal fork, but the offset on the lefty is 55mm, and biggest fox/rockshox do is 51mm and obviously you'll need a new front wheel, headset and stem, probably cheaper to pick up a new lefty, or the new lefty ocho?
The Lefty Ocho isn't going to be available aftermarket for a while yet
