I recently built up a new hardtail, Sonder Signal TI first 29er, and due to limited options etc at the moment i ended up going Kenda Nevegal Pro 2 front and rear, i wanted 2.6's, a tyre that was pretty general, from hardpack to natural trails.
Here's the thing, i could differentiate what the main differences were with the regolith...
i've ridden the bike a few times now, its certainly quick, but it feels a bit like I'm pedaling through syrup on the climbs.. i chose a sensible weight wheelset (1850g IIRC) and now I'm second guessing my (rear) tyre choices.
I'm wondering if the Regolith might be a better choice up back
Any experience?
Can't help with the 2 tread patterns but check the compound as well.
I had a Hellkat out the back as people suggested it rolled fairly well for its category. That may be in certain casings but the more durable casing compound is super soft & grippy so it dragged more than it should and was wearing pretty fast.
Makes for a fantastic front tyre, though I wish they would do softer compounds on the lighter casings for that.
