I've got Hope X2 brakes on both my bikes. One is the older Tech X2 and the other is newer Race X2 Evo. I much prefer the latter (more power, better ergonomics etc).
Looking at the brakes I can't see any difference (other than graphics) between the calipers. So, can I just fit new Race Evo levers to older X2 calipers or did they change something inside the caliper with the Evo models?
I believe the calipers are common to each.
XC calipers with lever options for Tech or Race. I had the same on 2 of my bikes.
calipers the same, just pop new levers on.
The Race Evo levers push less fluid per mm of linear movement at the finger, which increases the braking power but means they can't be used with V2 or V4 calipers. I have them on one bike and the newer Tech 3 levers on the other, which are just as powerful but more adjustable (excellent bite point control), using M4 and E4 calipers (identical bar the bleed port and banjo having swapped position).
Great, thanks folks. That should save a few quid.
