Hi all,
Just looking for some good gravel routes - 20 miles would do. Preferably within 1-2 hours of the north-west - any suggestions?

You're going to drive for 1-2 hours to do a 20 mile ride?
I'm not in the North West so can't help from personal experience but have a look for "Wild Cycling" by Chris Sidwells. Covers 50 rides across the UK suitable for CX or Gravel bikes.
Hmm, better that than riding around Liverpool.
Me and a mate get onto the canals, rivers out to Delamere, Manchester, Wigan way from Liverpool. Go one way and get the train back or loop round. Train over to Wirral and coastal path it and through parks, Wirral Way etc. Not fantastic but better than driving an hour to do 20 miles.
