I am in the market for a new disc braked raod-sih bike.
I had my Saracen Hack nicked and am looking for something to replace it. The giant Defy 2 on Pauls is in the lead but is there anything else anyone has seen which looks interesting?
The ability to sort of ride off road would be nice but not 100% essential. What is essential is that it must be under £600. 2nd hand is an option too for the right price! The Defy 2 disc is the bench mark!
Anyone know of anything?
I'm struggling to come up with anything with drop bars better than the Defy 2 at Pauls.
Best leftfield idea I can come up with is http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/hybrid-bikes/boardman-hybrid-bike-pro-2016 , bought with British Cyling 10% discount (£16 from Evans) and paid for using vouchers purchased through your employer for ~9% discount. Would make it literally a few squids over 600.
Thats an interesting option.
I do quite fancy a Specialized Diverge as noticed on 2nd hand on here.
Its just hard to look past the Defy new at £600. I loved that Hack I had but there are no good deals on it at the moment and I need something sooner rather than later!
https://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m7b0s194p6594/CANNONDALE-CAADX-SORA-2016 isn't a bad option for under £600, but they only have 56cm frame.
http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/calibre-dark-peak-adventure-bike-p347153 might be good for 40mm tyre clearance for £600, sadly the 15% promo voucher does not apply due to its own sale price.
I hate the look, but reviews say it rides well, https://www.rutlandcycling.com/318628/products/2016-giant-revolt-2-cyclocross-bike-charcoal.aspx
