My bike MTB has quite old geometry with a 67.5 degree head angle. I keep reading that even 66 degrees is steep.

On the other hand most of my cycling is on gravel bike which has a 71 degree head angle.

So the MTB still feels like an unstoppable monster truck.

Am I kidding myself that my MTB is fine?

"Why's orange Jam called Marmalade?"

I think it was used a cure for sea sickness.

Anyway, why do I always find my keys in the last place that I looked?

and

Why do the format options on this forum keep ****ing off?

What's the historical reason for different countries having brakes the different way around?

That's interesting, what is the difference between marmalade and jam?

I think brakes are to allow you to signal across the road (ie right in this county) whilst braking using the more-safe (rear) brake

Marmalade is citrus fruits, jam is everything else.

It drives me mad that’s I can only use the back brakes whilst signalling right.

All motor bikes are front brake on the right. An arrangement that must be pain for people who ride motor bikes and bikes in most countries

Ps why can’t I see any functions in the text editor

Rotting fruit in a bowl, bit of water in the bottom, cling film over the top, couple of holes poked through - fruit fly trap

If you carry on looking after you find them then you'll prove the saying wrong.

I mean that's great if you want to attract fruit flies, but Rich_s said they want to get rid of fruit flies. I'm thinking that they might be planning a fruit fly genocide?

This question has been gnawing at my soul for ages.

When you're out and about on the roads, there are times when you have to enter traffic fairly close to a traffic light controlled junction, so you often have to wait for a gap. The gap is determined by when the nearby light goes red and so you watch as a whole load of vehicles go through before that gap comes.

What's the proper word or expression for that "whole load"?

It could be bunch, batch, cohort, group, train, slice?

I don't know!

I want to know!

Singletrack! Tell me the answer!

Do pro-level racers wear new kit for every race/run or do they have their kit cleaned and re-used?

Asking because I was listening to an F1 podcast yesterday & the woman responsible for all of the Mercedes team F1 kit requirement, said that each driver will get through 88 sets of brand new overalls this season, as they only wear them once, which astounded me. They also get through ~200 sets of undergarments for the year.
So, if that is replicated throughout the grid it works out to 1760 racing suits & 4000 items of undergarments just for 20 people!! Seemed like a real waste to me.
And that doesn't include all the team kit/uniform which gets changed every season.

I'm sure with a sharpie scribbled signature they all end up in raffles*. (not so sure about the under crackers - they probably end up in vending machines in Tokyo)

(As good a place as any) Why are people so scummy? I just got changed after my commute (no, not that) and in the sink in the changing room was a load of small hair clippings, like someone had trimmed their (ginger) beard, or similar. All it needed was to turn the tap on for a second or 2 to clear them! Vile scummy creatures.. why??

I was amazed and impressed to discover that Ben Ainslie won all 3 of his Finn class gold medals (2004, 2008 and 2012) sailing exactly the same boat!

@rich_s

we've just got some of these.  Currently have no fruit flies. But none on traps either.  I'm almost tempted to let some fruit rot.

(edit - amazon seem to have broken links.  Search for Blooven fruit fly traps)

I've tried trapping the flies. But they're living in a big rubber plant. And keep breeding. How do I get rid of the eggs?

Now shoved the plant outside and hoping nature kills the blighters off.

More likely to kill the plant and provide the flies with extra food...
