I've just bought a fat bike. Will come in handy where I live.
I need front and rear mudguards but I can't get my head around the advertising blurb.
Forks at front are Blutos but the rear one is more important to save getting a wet arriere.
Anyone on here got a fattie and if so what mudguards do you use?

Ah - looks like they're not doing the Fat versions now.
I have a mudhugger on mine - don’t think there ever was a fat version, just had to get the hot air gun to help splay the mounts
There is a few you can get from Mucky Nutz, BBB, SKS and more and a quick Google is your friend.
I've used all three and have no complaints with blutos too.

Cut up plastic milk bottle for the bluto. Rear was just any old 29er that I had lying around. Both have worked admirably for over ten years.
I’m a relative newcomer to fatbikes (only18 months), I tried lots and settled on SKS shockboards. Secure and good coverage if expensive. I combined them with a free guard of a normal size to protect the head bearings, I was mocked on my thread about my perfect ATB for having too many guards but I think in normal British weather you can never have too many!

I use mudguards from a trials motorbike. It's easy to make up the mudguard stays from B&Q alloy tubing.
That gets you a strong mudguard that doesn't rattle and doesn't break when jammed up with mud or frozen slush. They are far more effective than what is generally sold for fatbikes, most of which stop some of the spray rather than all of it.

Nearly true! I backed off trying to do the full 24hrs when I hit my 70s.
Doing laps for 24hrs on a singlespeed bike that weighs well over 40lbs is a bit tough for us older chaps. I become a mobile chicane and get in the way of other riders too much, so I just do a few laps for the craic and then get out off the way.
My mudguards keep me clean and dry though. 🙂
I’ve also added a cut-down downtube board behind the seattube between the rear guard and the BB shell - stops all the muck from the back wheel from spraying the BB bearings. I went from having to remove and re grease the BB bearings after every wet ride to only doing it occasionally
