You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Off on my holidays soon and looking to get some riding in. Staying in Saint-Jean-d'Angély and wondering which bike to take - road or FS. If anyone has ridden in that area I'd love hear more as Google doesn't throw up a lot of info. Ta muchly.
Have a search on
utawagavtt.com
vttfrance.com (tourist office offen has route maps which are not online)
Edit: not much on utawaga and all seems quite flat. Ile de Re is stunning (busy though) but worth an explore, road bike I would say
Couple of examples

If you create an account you can download gpx, or I'll semd you any files you want
Strava heatmap worth a look, I suspect heavily road orientated
FWIW these look like typical (in my experience) utawaga rides making the most of terrain, looping around with options to shorten. I load these into my phone via viewranger and try and not get lost too often.
vttfrance page, links to lots of stuff including some guide books, I have only been to La Rochelle and Ile de Re (notbwith bike but for holiday / sailing)

Many thanks jambalaya!
Edit: Should have said Merci Monsieur
Well thats about the level of my French !
Also www.geoportal.gouv.fr and switch on IGN maps to have a search around, purple tracks are tracks/paths which I have never had an issue riding on although local restrictions can apply. As above my gut feel is roady.
