Been googling but either the choice doesnt seem great or it is massively confusing (dtswiss i am looking at you, your product names / range is the work of a madman)

What would people reccomend? or failing that any good wheel buiders in Bucks, that could either rebuild my wheel, or build me a new one?

Cheers.

For DT Swiss:

1501 > 1700 > 1900 series (best and lightest to cheapest and heaviest)

EX > XM > XR (strongest and heaviest to weakest and lightest)

Combine the 2 and you have most of their alloy range. I think they have 25mm variants in all combinations at the moment. XM series goes much wider as well.

When you say budget, how much are you looking at?

Cheers Kamikazie

Around £100-150 pounds? thing is I have no idea whether that is reasonable or not, not looking for anything especially bling just a solid strong wheel.

Current wheel is a factory built one i got with the bike, i think it is just a bad build, snapped three spokes in three months, and i would rather spend the money to buy a new wheel, rather than keep fixing it...

There is a DT swiss set on CRC with 30mm rims for about £80 for the front and £100 for the rear at the moment. No idea how heavy they are though.

These are 15mm Front (good) 135? qr is that (old) standard? if so, then the these may be worth a punt for £99

RCZ (French shop) do somee very cheap DT Swiss wheels. Website looks dodgy but I had no problems. Be aware that they don't come with any of the usual adapters though (I suspect they are unused OEM stock).

I've been battering a pair of these around the Peak for the last 6 months quite happily.

I got these, thought they were a bit shit. Not that strong. Spokes tensioned poorly and had small kinks in them. Went out of true quickly. Not great for a hardtail that's going to get thrashed.

Thanks all going to look closer at the French site and the Merlin options.

Re: the E1650 on wiggle/Crc I can only find ones with an Xd driver and I need a normal one.

Thx for your help. Got some things to look at now.

I've got a set of Speed Tuned hubs on Stans Flow Ex rims, 25mm wide. Two rides old. XD driver, for sram cassettes. Taped for tubeless. Looking for £180....

Tight, true, excellent condition

Another +1 for the Alex/chosen wheel from merlin. I've used one on my touring bike for a couple of years and it's been more than up to the job.
