Broke my R170s and bought some Fizik R4s to replace them but not getting on with them at all. The R170s fit me like the proverbial glove, what's the latest equivalent, RC9? Don't want to spend RC9 money really, Merlin had a great deal on an older model but no size 47s left. Next one down in the range is the RC4 I think but they look a lot bulkier than the R170s, anyone got these? Shimano shoes don't seem to be as narrow as they used to be which isn't good for me as I have skinny old canoes of feet.

Any pointers for deals or other skinny road shoes would be splendid. Annoyingly my brother has two pairs of R170s, little used black pair and new white pair, UK11 so no good to me. If anyone is interested let me know as he's sold his roadie.

Should really have titled this "recommend me some narrow, comfy, reasonably stiff and not too pricey road shoes please."

Anyone?

I've got the camo ones, colour pattern is quite pastel shades while the orange laces are very vibrant, they run big (my feet are ~27.5cm long and the 43 has room for thicker winter socks, I have to tighten the laces with a bit extra effort if wearing thin summer socks).

Very stiff sole and very light, with my default Time Xpro10 cleats fitted they are ~550g for the pair.

Been using the L/XL pair of https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CLCAPRKRTC/carnac-parky-reflective-toe-cover the last few evening for extra visibility (they were £4 in recent flash deal), they also happen to cover all but the top lace hole, making them more aero. 😉 😆 I did wonder if the Sm/Med would fit, should have bought a set to try and if they didn't, find someone to gift them to,

Cheers, I meant RP9s, not RC9. Still don't want to spend RP9 money either! Do look good but £100 is about my budget
