Anyone know of any deals on Reverbs at the moment? I need a 30.9mm one with 125mm of drop and ideally a right handed remote so i can stick it on the left hand side.

I see Merlin are doing them for £199 plus 20% discount. Is there anywhere cheaper?

hibike in Germany. 2012 versions with bleed kit etc (which the Merlin ones don't have IIRC) for ~£170 delivered.

Are they reputable Daveyboy?

I've just seen you can also get them from bike-components.de which I think a few people off here have ordered from

Seem to be. Ordered mine the other week and took about 4 working days to come. Think a few people on here have got them from there...

I got 2 from hibike.de. Both arrived within a week.

Thing is though: if Merlin's price was in the same ball park (at the time) I'd have bought from them in case of any warranty issues.

£199 plus 20% discount

The fact that this is cheaper than the German companies and from England makes it a no-brainer surely...

Just ordered one from Merlin for £180. I did consider going down the German route but hibike don't have the 420mm in stock and apparently sometimes Fishers are ok about warrantying non-UK supplied posts but sometimes they aren't.....

Called Merlin up first - they are 2012 posts with the black collar (not silver as shown in the photo) and they are supplied to them in boxes of 20 (shows how many they must be shifting) so they are sent to customers bagged up. Not bothered about the bleed kit as a mate has one but would have liked the enduro collar to hold the seat up in case of 'stuck-down' syndrome. Prefer guaranteed warranty though.

HTH

Sorry, yeah it's £20 discount not 20%

Hmm not sure what to do now as the merlin one comes without a bleed kit, but i like the idea of ordering from the UK for warranty issues.

What is the liklihood it will need bleeding or is it just a random issue?

You'll need the bleed kit to shorten the hose, I understand. Or you'll need zip ties to tie the hose into a loop 😉

Or not. Mine was the right length as it was (on a medium Blur 4X so quite a dinky little frame). Could shorten it a couple of inches but for the faff that bleeding it would involve, decided not to bother.

I bought a Merlin one and shortened the cable by 3-4 inches following the [url=

video[/url] and didn't need to bleed it.

I guess there's a risk of getting air in, and then needing to bleed.

I can't be having a loop of cable on my bike, that won't do!

Reverb plus bleed kit from merlin is sitting in the basket waiting for me to hit "buy". I've got buyer's guilt before i've even bought it!

Enduro collar is a silver collar which clamps round the post so you can change the max drop point, so I'm told.

That and you can use it to hold the post in the extended position should it go t*ts up on the trail. Useful to have in your pack just in case I'd have thought
