Riding a 2017 trail bike at the moment, and still running the same sram cassette as was new, 10-42. (Nearly on the fourth chain).
I would like an E bike for these pesky Calderdale hills but that’s maybe next year, so for now I was thinking up replacing the drive train with something easier on the legs.
Any deals around, or good combos of chain/cassette/shifter? Currently on XD driver and I *think* it can’t be swapped on the current hub but could possibly change that.
Also, it’s running cannondale Si cranks, so will an eagle chain ring need new cranks? Mine has sort of wibbly corrugations on the interface. .
*Not so stealth add* I have a brand new 10-52 derailleur/cassette/shifter and chain for sale in the classifieds...
I can’t seem to find it…
It's in the paid adds. Starts off with a pic of a blue Chameleon
I expect that Si crank has a proprietary interface on it - think they make an 11 speed spidering that would probably work with 12 speed KMC and Sram chains - might not play nicely with Shimano 12 speed chains though.
Looks like absolute black also do Cannondale direct mount chainrings - maybe some other aftermarket ones do too. It’s different to Sram direct mount and pretty sure it’s different to Shimano direct mount too.
Those Garbaruk cassettes look interesting. Can get a 10-46 for $72 which will work with all the existing 11sp kit. Currently have a 42 granny ring cassette.
If you want to stay 11 speed there’s also an xd compatible Sunrace 10-46 cassette if you can find stock. Sounds like the garburak is cheaper though
What I want might be dictated by budget, that eagle, is tempting and a good price, but my budget maybe doesn’t stretch to it. I’ll check the piggy bank.
I doubt you'll find any deals given the short supply of this sort of stuff, but OneUp make an adaptor so you can run a 12sp / Eagle ring on that crank:

Cannondale use FSA direct mount (Or vice versa)..and 11 speed FSA rings work just fine with Shimano 12 speed... FSA also have a Shimano 12 speed version.
