Mine's an 09 with the carbon rear triangle. Is there any way to narrow the creaking down to the carbon-alu bonds?
It creaks under pedalling loads, seated or not. Couple of creaks every pedal rev, more power = louder. No amount of jumping up and down on the bike makes a noise, only pedalling. Occasionally it goes quiet if it rains enough...
Here's what I've done:
Swapped & greased QR skewer.
Cleaned and greased behind mech hanger.
Cleaned and greased BB.
Stripped cleaned and greased rear end, dogbone, main pivot. Travel is smooth when tested with the pressure let out of the shock.
I haven't replaced the bearings, and the main pivot ones are a little bit gritty. I'm reluctant to spend 50 quid on new ones "just in case", when the noise could be coming from the triangle. Is there any way to eliminate it?
Have I missed anything?
