You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
My commute takes me 80% off road, have been using 35mm speed kings all through the summer, which have been great, even though they are slick now.
Got last years Cinder X out as its getting muddy again, but they are nearly as slick as the speed kings. 😉
So, was wondering...
Is there a good CX tire for mud that will also last that little bit longer, when you do take it on road?
Sorry for the CX/Tire post, talk about digging a double deep hole for myself on here 😉
In a sense, mud tyres will last longer because the knobs tend to be bigger so they'll take longer to wear down than say speedkings which have minimal knobs.
Of course, they'll be slower on the road.
Or something like a Small block 8 which rolls well but isn't a mud tyre but still grips *enough* might be a decent compromise.
As for digging a hole, STW is largely frequented by roadies and CX bikes are the new(!) niche so you'll fit right in.
Landcruisers. Use them for everything CX related other than racing...
