I usually find £50 in tks gets me something to last a few years but not today.
I want something fitted with a hood in medium weight for day to day wear.
Anyone seen anything?
Decathlon
I think they are £40. I got an older colour from a rack for £25
Off the back of another thread earlier I looked on mountain warehouse and they had quite a few different colours around the 30-40 quid mark.
And Decathlon obvs....
Sportpursuit? Slightly over your budget but I have a couple of Fjern items which I like, stretch fleece and down gilet and they do a softshell jacket.
TK Maxx usually have a decent selection.
Canterbury do some dws coated hoodies for training in. Could be worth a look.
"TK Maxx usually have a decent selection"
🤣🤣🤣

Yet again, CFH wins the internet.
(IT WASN'T A SPOON!).
😁
Alpkit have a sale on now...

Costco - if you or a friend have a card - have great ones at the moment. Kirkland Signature own brand are easily the match of any of my more expensive branded ones. Under £25.

Nothing I have ever brought from mountain warehouse has ever have a hint or quality to it. I you want cheap, disposable and unlikely to do the job then maybe but otherwise I would look elsewhere.
Not to be confused with Mountain Equipment or Mountain Hardware who are quality but expensive.
Decathlon, I've got this one and it's perfect for what I use it for.

Mountain warehouse have a decent one for £25 odd, strange sizing though so might be best to try on in store.
If you can stretch to it these are absolutely brilliant.
I'm going to say the same old thing here - what is a softshell?
It ranges from a buffalo shirt to a plastic bag with some fleece backer. If you're not looking for performance then anything is fine really, you could probably find something in screwfix, sports direct or aldi/lidl. Decathlon is a good price point to aim for, also regatta, peter storm or dare2b should also fall into that bracket
£100 Regatta found for £40 in tks, seems ok.
dhb MTB Trail Hooded Softshell Jackets are in the CRC black friday sale. 50 notes
I'll add that i have not found stuff from Mountain Warehouse to be of good quality
My most entertaining moment was trying a a floor chair. As i leaned back the stitching exploded......
Howies one on SportPursuit for £45 looks nice.
[edit] Oh, you found something
The dhb MTB Trail Hooded Softshell is a great bit of kit. I have the second one they ever sold (I work for Wiggle/CRC which is how I know (-: )
Local Aldi have a thermal bike “soft shell” for £25. Picked up a long sleeve top or £9.99 which at XL fits like a glove so tempted to get the quilted soft shell which looks like a gillet with long sleeves
That Aldi top looks like it's been designed to help the rider blend in with the tarmac. What is it with cycling clothing and trying to make riders invisible on the roads?
I've got a grey car, no-one's ever moaned to Citroen about their "tarmacky" paint options.
