thinking about a project, the thought was to get hold of an old set of bombers and making them wider to take a fat wheel (bridge and stations unbolt)

so how easy would it be to knock up a wider bridge and crown and more importantly would it cost a fortune.

It'll be pretty easy to draw up the parts. Maybe 2-3 hours work for someone with a bit of skill. Getting them cut will be the tricky bit. I'd have thought very roughly around £300 for the bridge, maybe £100 for the arch. You might get away with a laser cut for arch which will bring the cost down quite a bit. Unlikely to be a cost effective project. Maybe you could fabricate a bridge from steel tube brazed or welded. That'd make it more of a shed project

I'm sure its been done before, but google isn't revealing anything. Wonder if it was epicyclo?
Wouldn't be too hard to design a wider setup. Cost to manufacture probably a couple of hundred quid.

cheaper option would be Maverick SC32s

Yeah.. £400 sounds like very competitive pricing to me. it's so critical that the fork desn't fail it wouldn't be something i'd be willing to scrimp on.

Doh, I have a JR T fork with no lower crown or steerer. You can have it for nothing just pay postage. Mail in profile.
