Looking for a set of brakes, other than Rosebikes for a set of SLX's has anyone seen any descent deals about?
Those ones from Rose come wrong-handed, I was tempted by their XTs but not sure I can be bothered with dismantling brand new kit
Just ordered the slx from rose. Could not find anything around that price except avid which i cant stand !
Swapping them over take about 10-15 mins max and is very simple

I was looking at the XTs on Rose bikes. Seema a bargain!
I saw that Avid sale and the CR is tempting but they'd be a mix-match of colours.
I'm also tempted by last years SLX from Merlin, to save the hassle of switching the levers and they also come with rotors for £129, is there much performance difference between the years does anyone know?
don't worry about the wrong handedness of the XTs from Rose - you'd need to replumb them to shorten the hoses anyway - it is no extra bother to swap them at that point.
Also, the new style shimanos are the easiest brakes I have ever bled - get the funnel thing (£3 from CRC) and it is a joy to do.

Once I add rotors & the funnel thingy last years SLX's from Merlin come out at the same price, is there much improvement? I had the older M775 XT brakes on a previous bike and they were v.good.
I've had old SLX, old XT and new XT - the new XT seem considerably lighter, so I imagine the new SLX may also be lighter.
The new stubby levers are pretty cool too.
Realman is doing some great deals SH.
