Hi, I have to post a bike frame as well as lots of accessories down the country. unfortunately Parcel force are not willing to send it because of the size of the box, as i needed a box for wheels etc. Does anybody know any other couriers that will post larger items which you have used?
I've posted full bikes in bike boxes before by parcelforce?
I know so have I, I have been using them for years but they said something like 'the item can not be bigger than a meter and half length and hight. Something stupid like that you can see what i men on the ParcelForce website. Its ridiculous !
Got this of the Parcelforce site
What are your parcel size limits?
For sending within the UK, the size of each parcel must not exceed 3 metres length and girth (measured around its thickest part) combined and 1.5 metres for the greatest dimension.
City link through parcelmonkey have posted a few bikes for me no problem
Paisley freight are the usual recommendation for kayaks, which are a good chunk bigger than bikes. Think it's normally TNT who actually courier it though.
Last bike I had come in a complete box came via DHL.
I use FedEx for everything up to and including tandem tricycles.
Paisley Freight, they must be owned by somebody sporty:

Unfortunately though, they are just acting as agents for the destructive TNT so make sure you pack the stuff well. Their website works well though and we've used them twice now for bikes with no problems; morning pickup in Lancs and next day lunch time delivery in Laaandon.

That's actually pretty big though... You might need to be a bit choosy about your bike box but I'm pretty sure the standard specialized box is smaller, frinstance.

You should be fine sending a frame with PF? I've posted stuff with RM, PF and MyHermes and never had an issue, the biggest being a full bike via my hermes. They're much cheaper than royal mail as well, I won't botheryusing RM again unless i have a free returns label or something.
Anything but MyHermes. My local self employed courier lobbed my parcel over the 8ft hedge and when I opened the gate her dog ran in and pissed on my doorstep. Avoid them like the plague.
thanks for your replies guys i'm going to to Paisley as TNT have a pretty bad reputation,, yes my box is big as i had to cram wheels and bars in their to, yes ohrats, i got recommended MYHermes and I have never in my life seen any company with more bad reviews. Yes i have heard that their staff are ignorant and inconsiderate but they are cheap , only thing they got going for them. going to do a few quotes now.
I've just used Direct Courier Solutions for two frames.
Terrifying, in that their tracking doesn't work and everything happens 24 hours later than they say it will, but modestly priced and no fuss about carrying bikes.
