So took advantage of the strong second hand mtb prices with lockdown etc. to finally sell the Nickel. Looking to replace with something new around the £2000 to £2500 mark.

27.5 or 29” 130 to 150mm not bothered if Alu or carbon.....was thinking there would be some bargains out there with shops beginning to trade again but not seen anything yet

Any eagle eyed STWers see anything worth picking up?

Thanks much 😀👌

I'd be upping the budget and classing 150mm+ as trail, and going for the Privateer 161.

I know for a 6 month old Transition Sentinel in Large and very good condition and great spec coming on the market soon. Will be around the £2K mark

Bike shops are running out of stock very quickly you may not have as much choice as you expect.

Noticed that alright! Hoping it may change in the next few weeks

It will get worse. Chinese factories shut down a few months ago and components are in short supply globally plus demand has gone through the roof

Don’t think the spike in demand will be sustained given current economic outlook and I’m sure there is stock in the supply chain that’s going to need shifting but hey it is what it is 👍

Trust me there is hardly any free stock availability from bike companies and they can't just suddenly knock up a load of new stock. Supply is planned an awfully long time ahead.

Mate of mine been looking hard for new bike, most models he had on his shortlist are either out of stock or on back order and absolutely no chance of a discount. 2nd hand prices through the roof but no good if you can’t get what you want

This seems pretty good and would leave some of your budget for upgrades - I’d immediately stick a charger damper in the revelation and then you’ve got a Pike basically (I’d also stick in the newest Rockshox debonair airshaft that is mean to make the fork ride higher in its travel / with a bigger negative spring).
