on one's deals on 29er frame and wheels look good - but i'd need new forks too -,
any bargains about -
around £200 if possible
do you need less travel on a 29er - most of the complete bikes seem to come with 80mm, why is that?
Look at the on one site under steering and there's a suspension fork there for under £200

less travel is acceptable because of the smoothing effect of the bigger wheel angle of attack relative to the ground.
Having said that I run mine at 120mm now for great suspension.
On-One carbon forks work well with fat tyres too.
thanks all,
I guess i'm a bike snob on a budget - and i cant quite bring myself to like those RSTs - anyone got them?
Those carbon forks (i) are not as light as others (ii) may not have 29er specific rake (iii) are perenially on ebay for £85 odd (iv) don't look so good when On one's are £125 (Tho OOS ATM IIRC)
EDIT - try asking Earl

I have had a few 29ers and I've come to the conclusion that suspension offers very little improvement. I particularly like the On-One carbon fork and it has the benefit of saving a fair bit of weight.
I have tried suspension forks on my Singular, Scandal and Inbred 29ers and in each case I removed it.
