Looking for lightish weight ideally rear only but could use a pair.

Default option would be something from the Hope range but the bearings in two of my lightly use rear hubs are going to need replacing long before they should need replacing 🙁

All hubs have bearings! My Hopes have lasted ages. Maybe it's something that you are doing. Or, how you wash or maintain your bike?

I got these for my sons bike last week - seem excellent for the money.

Merlin have some Shimano deals with rotors

@ bikeneil. I've only noticed the newer hubs bearings drop off earlier than I would have hoped 😉

All my wheels are treated gently when cleaned

Those Fulcrum wheels can't be beaten for the price. I've been running the 26" version for two years and they've taken a hell of a lot of abuse and I've only needed to change the freehub bearings.

Not at all light, though. TBH I wouldn't have Fulcrum again after having the piss taken out of me on spares availability and price. "Want a spoke sir? That'll be £22. It's not actually the right spoke for your wheel but it'll probably fit. No we don't sell the spokes for your wheel, that'd be crazy!" Want a 15mm adaptor? Why would we make those?

They seem reasonable, not that I weighed them, compared to Hope/Stans. I'm sure they will be heavier, not sure how much real world difference it would make. My son wasn't held back by them as far as I could tell - could have been a bit heavier for me.

Spares could well be an issue, and they have straight spokes but at £130 delivered it seemed worth a punt.

Not saying they couldn't be a good option, it's a lot of wheel for the money- it's just the OP wants lightish, and they're 2kg.

Some Crests on Hopes here that I've just had my own budget redacted for:

Have a nosey around Superstar. You can filter price and application, curiously not rim size though. Some good discounts on Pacenti wheelsets.

Admittedly sourcing spares for Fulcrum kit is a problem. Fortunately I haven't needed to replace any spokes yet but I've heard some horror stories.
