Bit of a long shot - are there any forks still being made for 26" wheels with a 20mm bolt through axle (or maxle)?

I've found Manitou Circus Experts on CRC which, whilst not ideal would be an acceptable compromise, but before i buy i wondered if there are any other options still around?

650B forks work fine if that helps broaden your search- I've got 650B forks in my 26" DJ bike.

I've a set of Sektors for sale in the classifieds if you want to go second hand.
I think devilles take a 20mm axle, don't know if they are still made in 26" though. Fox 36 are but £££ obviously. Holy crap, just checked and 36's are 15mm axle lol!

Manitou Circus Experts

IME, great for dirt jumping, far too stiff for general mtb use though

They come with a firm coil as standard, softer options are available from Manitou but the importer (hotlines/crc) didn't carry them last time i checked

The 26" 36 will take a 15 or 20.

All useful stuff - thank you. And it's a tapered steerer if that makes any difference, although i'm currently running forks with a straight steerer and a convertor fitted.

All straight steerers (and 190mm+)

I have a couple of sets of 26" x 20mm Fox 36s that I keep meaning to put in eBay. One vanilla, one float. Both with 170mm straight steerer.

Indeed.

Tapered steerer is easy, plenty of forks in that config. Was a bit harder nailing down a straight steerer but I managed.

On a vaguely related note, would swapping lowers on a 26" fork from QR to 20mm make a noticeable difference?

It's all in the steerer ime

I also have some elderly Suntours with QR/20mm convertible lowers. They twang backwards and forwards with any wheel, although the 20mm axle reduces twisting. Definitely needs a tapered steerer but it's not until you get the whole package (thru axle + tapered steerer + stiff crown + stiff uppers) that the forks just go up-and-down and not side-to-side and/or backwards-and-forwards

I sold a load of stuff last summer and my 26" Pike 454s went minutes after I listed them on eBay. The first bike thing I've had that's moved through old and worthless to being wanted again.

On my Bfe I had a RS Revelation that was Specialized oem and had a 20mm axle. They still pop up for sale.

My current 26" dj bike has an X-fusion Slant. Bought brand new for 170 quid and pretty sure that's 20mm as well.

If you can find a good set of Marzocchi 55rc3 Ti- Evo v2 forks second hand, they're great forks for 26" and have a 20mm axle.

Oh, and there's a pair in the classifieds right now... 😉

I have the older 55RC3 Ti non-evo versions and they're amazing. If I could justify a new pair of forks I'd be seriously tempted by these. I mean I am anyway...
