Full Face? Body Armour? Booked a trip next week, any feedback greatly appreciated 😀
The blacks are pretty full-on so protection would be a good idea. You can pootle down the red and blue with an xc set up and still have a lot of fun.
Its pretty exposed so the weather makes a big difference. Slippy in the wet, cold in the wind, closed when it snows.
Great trails. You'll have a blast
You can't do either of the black runs without a full face lid, so if using an xc lid your limited to blue and red runs which are still great fun

Don't think there'd be anyone to stop you from doing that if you wanted to.
Great video here of it with a wide range of riders:
Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated 8)
I ran the red and blue in Feb when it was snowing...haha....was ice everywhere...but still good fun...i did it on a Trek remedy which was more than capable...
if you come off your guna get sliced to pieces in the some places as its an old quarry
...so if youve got it ...wear it id say...the more the better...
the pump track is a good skills testing area too...
theres a photographer that moves around the course taking pics of everyone too...so get ready to pop some "J's" on all the jumps...most
people werent running packs they had water bottles stashed near the uplift point...which made sense..
cant think of anything else....have fun
I was there at the weekend. I'd seen the "oh, the red and blue are just like a trail centre" comments.....
So I was a bit surprised when I did my first run down the blue! 😯
Once I knew I could do all of the stuff on it I was able to go a bit faster (okay, a LOT faster), but after 7 runs I could feel the battering I was taking was starting to affect my ability to keep the bike where it needed to be, especially on the lower sections where you join the red and black runs. I only did the blue, I could do that and the challenge was in going quicker, I had a three hour drive straight afterwards so didn't want to push myself too far, break a leg and have to drive home with it flopping about on the clutch pedal!
It was great fun, but it's very much a blue DH run, not really comparable to any trail centre I've ever ridden, and we'd done The Beast at Coed y Brenin the day before with no problems.
Riding a 150mm C456, XC lid, knee and elbow pads btw.
