Blew the dust off mine last night and went for a local xc ride in the dark, for the first time in a long time.

Forgot just how good - for my type of riding - the Anthem X is.  Relatively light, flickable and covers ground at a decent pace (well, subject to my physical limitations...).

Mine is built up a bit more 'trail', with 130mm forks, dropper, Zee brakes but is still relatively light.

Certainly made me realise I did the correct thing last year and sold my 160mm travel 650b bike, as it was great but more bike than I needed 95% of the time.

🙂

My only bike is an Anthem X 26er so yours is very modern

I wish it had a slacker head angle, but it’s a very capable bike (within reason)

I sing more on my anthem 29 than on any of my other bikes.

The anthem x 29 is an awesome, very capable bike. I miss mine.

I still have my 26er but not used it for quite a while. Head angle is something daft like 71 deg

still got mine in pretty much original config.  but haven't ridden it since i acquired a Marin Rift Zone which is far superior when it comes to anything a little technical

the giant can be left a little wanting on rocky descents.  for local XC stuff though its still pretty much the perfect bike.  having said that i do fancy replacing it with a light hardtail

@heavy_rat - that is exactly what I did about 18 months ago - I sold on my Anthem and an older Giant 26er hardtail and got a nice sexy carbon 'trail' hardtail.  More fork, rrom for bigger tyres, slacker (not much mind), just as capable as just as fast (obviously me being the limiting factor!) as the Anthem was.  For me too there are now less bikes to look after and less deciding what bike to take out!!  Chicken dinner!!

Got an Anthem 29er carbon. It flies along. Unbelievably fast and efficient and fun to ride.

Once I take it offroad, not so much.
