I like the idea of gold chainring bolts, but I'm assuming they are aluminium.
Due to an entirely unscientific mistrust of aluminium chainring bolts based on anecdotal evidence, I wouldn't use them.

You should've put carbon paste in there when you installed it in the first place, user error.
Once you pull it out, you'll find that eventually it will go back to its normal size and shape.
