Next weekend I am working in Leeds at the Let's Ride event.  I have to drive up from Northampton but I plan to leave early Sat morning and fit a ride in somewhere before working late afternoon.  But where?  I'd prefer something trail centre style way marked so I have a rough idea of how long the ride will take.  Don't fancy going wild, getting lost and turning up late.  All suggestions welcome.

Stainburn is pretty amusing for a couple of hours, though not sure how much is open atm (felling). It's only small but there is some good steep, loamy/sloppy hidden stuff over the road that can be sessioned easily.

There's also an urban bike park opened recently in Leeds. Never been but could be fun for an hour or so.

There's loads to explore north of Leeds, but not much in the way of trail centres.

You could have a look at Grenoside for a couple of hours.

Leeds Urban bike park is near the motorway as you come into Leeds. All way marked, but not massively long.

Stainburn is on the northern edge off Leeds and is brilliant, but again, it's only a couple of miles of way marked trails, the rest are off piste and harder to find.

If you can do without gnarly stuff & don't mind knocking up some easy miles then you could try Pugneys Water park Wakefield just off Jtn 39 M1. Visitor centre sells cycling maps £2. Circular rides are anywhere between 10 and 30 miles & cover some quite nice areas. Much of it off road too. Lots of trail signage makes life easier.
