I built up a hardtail for a mate to see if he wanted to try biking. He's taken to it and might buy the bike off me but i'm not sure what to charge him for it

Stanton Slackline 631 26" frame (some cable rub but straight and in good condition)
Superstar Tactic wheels with Switch Ultra Hubs. On One CM + Smorgy tyres
DT Swiss XMM150 forks (650b)
Clarks M3 brakes (bought new for £50 for the build)
Bontrager Pro Line cockpit (in as new condition bought for £50 for the build)
XT 2x9 drivetrain with XTR shifters and Hope bashguard. All in really good condition
Nukeproof Neutron Alloy pedals
SDG saddle

He's put a reverb on it so don't need to think about that

what does the hivemind think?

Add up the cost of the new bits or bits you paid for then find typical costs of buying the second hands bits you already had - add those on then take 20% off because a) you’ve not had to list the parts for sale and b) he’s a friend.

£500 ? Dunno.

Maybe £400 if he promises never to ask you to fix something on it ever again?

Thanks folks, think I'll be happy asking for £400 and then throwing in some extra tyres, brake pads etc.
Will still end up being his maintenance gimp for a while
