First night ride with eldest OAB tonight, he got some lights for his bike for Christmas off grandparents, and so we headed out in siling rain for a 4 mile loop round the forest behind our house.
He was giggling uncontrollably at rattling down the trail through deep puddles, soaked to the skin...
My work as a father is done 8)

My son has never shown any interest in biking at all. He's nine and still doesnt want to learn to ride. He loves jumping his scooter and stuff, but his nice bike is hanging dusty in the shed. As a cyclist , you always hope your kids follow your enjoyment, but I would never make him do something he doesnt want to. He loves Tai Kwondo and swimming and I am glad for that little mercy.

We are desperate for a club to encourage them all - other kids into it to push their riding and encourage them.

Fantastic! 😛

It's been a long time since I rode regularly with my lads although my eldest did a 23 mile BMX ride with me last summer when home from uni 😀 . Youngest dirtlad is based in Vancouver at the mo' . . . plane tickets booked and visit planned . . . whoooop!!!

I took no2 son (age13) to Gisburn on friday and he really enjoyed it, think i may have sparked further interest! He has been round the forest road at Grizedale a few times but we did the blue route which involves quite a bit of singletrack which he hasn't ridden before. He also did the bottom section of the Hope line after some gentle persuasion and he loved that, especially when i filmed his second run!
No1 son didn't want to come 'cos he said biking was boring and sh!t, but he seemed to change his tune when we showed him the film footage!
So hopefully if i can keep him interested he will want to come out more.

Junior L finishes GCSE's this year, and we're heading to the Alps for 3 weeks for a bit of a riding road trip with 5 bike parks, Alp D'Huez TDF stage and a couple of other ideas I'm planning. 2 DH bikes, and a motorhome - can't wait.....

My youngest lad started riding couple of years ago and we try and get out together now and again and both love wet and muddy conditions.
Trouble is he's 32 fit as a lop and I can't keep up with him! 😀
