.. just announced by email British cycling members 10% discount only on RRP! 😐
That reminds me. I have £95 of Tesco Clubcard points I need to convert to Evans vouchers before the end of the month
Oh the horror, struggling chain only allows further discount on RRP and not already discounted items.
Get a grip

Er, no that's always been the case!
It's also pretty standard - most places say if an item is already discounted you can't then use an additional discount code on top of it.
Your outrage is misplaced I fear.
Lost the 10% off at CRC now the Evans discount is devalued. Looks like Companies are deciding these deals don’t benefit them enough.
oh yeah, Halfords now cycling stuff only too

Really? That's never been the way at CRC or Halfords - by far the biggest BC-partner discounters.
I think the OP has a valid first world problem.
Evans is struggling, surely not a surprise that they’re tightening up? Or they could go bankrupt and no discount for anyone!
Another reason? What are the other reasons you refer to? My last two bikes and my girlfriends last one are all from there.
Cycle Republic aka halfords is 10% off rrp too. Found out last week whilst purchasing an exposure diablo.
This could be the other reason...

Don’t flame me, there’s a bigger picture think about it.
So a shop is willing to give you a discount but not a discount off an already discounted price and you are bitching about it? Perhaps they need to make a little profit to remain in business?
This is a business that has offered you a benefit for many years (ok different owners in the past), yet you think it is reasonable to throw your toys out of the cot and what.... shop at a different store that has never offered you a 'goodwill' discount before? Wow.
Jeez, no wonder the retail industry is in such a mess.......
there’s a bigger picture think about it
Good to see David Icke has finally turned his attention to the great bicycle retail conspiracy. But where can I get 10% off an already discounted tin foil hat?
I suspect that most of the people who moan about not being able to double discount for their leisure products would be outraged if this happened to them at work with a consequent loss of profit and bonus.
But where can I get 10% off an already discounted tin foil hat?
I have a half price one here. I'll let you use bc and Evans discount on it. Takes it down to £202.50. Was £500. Bargin.

Funny that, I got another 10% off a pair of already discounted shoes
£5 delivery is one of the other reasons.
Failing to deal with warranty claims also.
In my case the staff did their best and I feel bad for getting worked up about what is in reality a non issue.
If any are reading, good luck, hope things work out for you, tough times in retail these days 😔
.. first mtb was from Evans in Woking (at full price in 2001 - great Trek hardtail got me into xc racing). Purchased lots of items from their shops and online.
The 10% bc discount has been applied in the last couple of years - ie own brand framesets were clearance with another 10% justified a bike build.
Lol David Icke
Jeez, no wonder the retail industry is in such a mess…….
I’m not sure the OP is solely responsible for the death of the high street. Up to that point, I thought you were doing reasonably well.

I suspect there might be a bigger picture thing there as well...

Ah.. that'll be why no 10% discount applied to a pair of discount gloves I bought yesterday then.
Noticed this yesterday.
Can't say as I actually blame them, I've had quite a bit off Evans recently in the sales - My Exposure lights (MaxxD & Diablo Sync with backup cell) would have been £690 at full RRP, they were in the sale for £518 (so a saving of roughly 25%), I then used my BC 10% to get them for £466.20 - so an overall saving of around 32.5%.
They can't have made much, if any profit out of that sale.
My Altura jacket was reduced from £119.99 RRP by 40% to £71.99, I used my BC 10% and got it for £64.79 - so overall a whopping 46% off that - again another sale where they've made very little, if anything.
Oh and my Egron back protector/hydration pack just after Christmas too which ended up down from an RRP of £135.99 to £49.99 (I even forgot to use my 10% on that one!!) so another huge 64% discount!!
So over those purchase above I've managed to save £365 off the total RRP - You can see why they're stopping it being applied to sale prices.
I can't complain to much about Evans. Bought a 2018 Cannondale Quick in a new year sale for my wife with £200 off though after a quick spin in the shop we were not sure it was the right size so took it home and realised after a short ride on local roads it was to small. Rang up and ordered a larger one which they had in the sale for us to pick up in a couple of weeks. After emails saying bike nearly ready and arrange pick up the local branch rang up to say the bike didn't exist and unlucky did we want our deposit back!
Rang head office and they agreed not on and offered a 2019 model at 2018 price so preserving the £200 reduction. When we picked the new 2019 larger bike up the sales guy was super helpful in giving my wife confidence we had the correct size this time.
I don't think you ask for more than that from Evans Head Office or the sales guy at the local store.
My wife has now ridden the new bike several times and v happy with it.
