I've never started one of these threads before, but this one really does look exceptionally nice to me. Maybe I'm biased. 😉

Van Nicholas titanium 29er Lefty belt drive Rohloff.

Couple of fat tyres, and you'd cover every niche

Straight tubes and rigid forks it would be nice, but it'll do 😉

Ticks a few boxes, but fails in some. Bent tubes and EBB are a big no for me.

every part is a self indulgent fashion- over-function choice and all unecessarily expensive, plus it looks ridiculous with half a fork.

it looks mingin but get rid of the rohloff, the bottle cages, the pedals and scribble over the red bits with black marker and I'll give you £250 for it.

Everything about that Van Nic ticks my boxes. I already own an Amazon and considered a VN before I bought my El Mariachi 29er. Belt drive/IGH I "get". Even the Lefty doesn't put me off.

Why then does it look crap? There's something not quite right about that seat tube and the seat stays. It looks very unbalanced somehow.

That top one is lovely!

Ditch the pedals, of course, and you have an awesome mile munching mud-plugger, ideal for the lovely UK weather!

I like it. A lot.

The van nic at he top of the thread is pure fashion victim material. Belt drive, in mud - really? That just does not work. That build is trying too hard to be different and in doing so has become utterly pointless. Buying that says the rider thinks way more about their bike than riding

Mine does. That's one of the reasons for doing it, no chain lube to wash off.

say what now?

is that wolfhound melty because someone stuck it on a hot wash trying to shrink a 29er frame for a 4'9" rider? 🙂

The only thing I'd change on the VN (gasps) but its an omission rather than inclusion are the bottle cages. They are just a bit toooooo biiiig. It would look far sweeter if they were the old style roadie thin tube ones. Sure you can get them in tit.

So, who rides a melty blue thing on here then? Would love to know how it rides.

A mate of mine has one of those Wolfhounds, great looking frame. Even better now he's had the seat stay repaired after if snapped. 😉
