Just taken delivery of my first new mountain bike in 8 years (12 years since I last bought a brand new FS bike).

My new AM9:

Still need to take my E4s of my old bike, fit my Deathgrips and potentially swap the saddle.

The guys at Bird have been fantastic to deal with, even when I decided on a different shock during the build process..

Looks great and I like the spec you've gone for too.

Thanks guys, it's replacing a Whyte T-129, which has been a great bike but I can really feel gets out of its depth on the rocky stuff the lakes has on offer.

I've wanted a raw aluminium bike for a while now, say that's a box ticked too ✅

That’s very nice!

I’m eagerly awaiting a raw Aether 7 with a similar spec 😁

Can I ask what pedals they are?

First new bike after so long? You're in for quite a ride I'd say, you'll see it's fundamentally a different kind of vehicle.

Anyway great choice and build, only thing I'd change would be the fork

Very nice, just built up a Aether 9A for the wife (also to replace a t-129) and an AM9 would be high on my list for a replacement bike for me. Love the raw finish, looks so much more purposeful than paint! Can only echo comments regarding Bird's customer service, absolutely top notch, almost makes handing over £££ seem enjoyable.
