Just thought I'd share my new DIY light with you all. Machined out of aircraft grade aluminium with adjustable side pods. Running 7 XM-L LED's @ 3amps. On paper output is over 8000 lumens.
Got 2 triple's and a single with an aspheric lens...

wow, looks stunning. Any beamshots 🙂
That looks mental!!
Where does the battery go? how long does it last?
Would be good to see beamshots.
Would also be a good if you could maybe snap one off and use it as a helmet light with a splitter in the power cable.
Where does the battery go?
in the trailer.
Battery is currently in a bottle but will need to go in a pouch as my new frame won't take a bottle. Run time is nearly 2 hrs on full power, not that I'll need full power much 😯
Yes please where do I sign 😯
how bright can a light be before it becomes an offence to use it on the road ?
Bonkers!
how bright can a light be before it becomes an offence to use it on the road
I only use it off road 😉
I'm sure you do, I was just curious.
according to a thread on pistonheads there's no upper limit on intensity 😯
Isn't the legal limit 60W? I don't know if they have amended the law in regard to more efficient lights such as LEDs where 10W would probably make the equivalent power to a 55W car bulb.
How long till we manage to replicate this: http://what-if.xkcd.com/13/

apparently that's the per bulb limit, you can have as many as you like.
