Last night someone got into the courtyard of my student building and stole my bike. It was a black and white 2012 Specialized Rockhopper standard spec apart from the changed saddle to black WTB and the tires were changed to Kenda Nevegals. The bike has some pretty distincitve scratches mainly some cable rub on the headtube, scratches and rubbing to the specialized text on the down tube and next to no paint on the chainstay from chainslap which I covered with a black lizard skins (I think) chainstay protector. I'd only had the bike a week and hadn't even got to ride it yet because of assignments. Looks like my student insurance wont cover bikes despite it having two locks cut through and it being caught on CCTV and the police seem pretty laid back about it too.
It'd be good if some people could keep their eyes open because it cost me the last of my student loan and I can't afford to replace it.
