A tour of the Shropshire Alps. Or as the Ordnance survey call them, Brown Clee hill and Titterstone Clee hill.  40km and 1200m of up. As a 59 year old a few months post ACL reconstruction surgery, I'm quite chuffed with that

Solo lap of Hamsterley. I couldn't get the standard 'top of transmission' picture as it was crowded with the e-bike social club and I couldn't see the view through the vape clouds.

Had to stick to marked trails sadly. All the fun stuff was waterlogged.

Only a post-ride pint pic. Beat the rain, until the pub when it binned it down.

Can't take credit for this one, my kids went off cycling by themselves this morning and my son took this picture of his sister on a moody Ilkley Moor.

My day started well

And then spent most of the afternoon here with my mate who went OTB quite spectacularly. Broken wrist & finger on his left and a broken elbow on the right 😳

Took Jnr out for his first long endurance road ride with me, 74k covered:

He's now too tired to do anything other than MS Flight Simulator and raid the Fridge. #teenager

Awesome ride @Kryton57 and jnr 😎
Jealous as I can’t drag my son off his pony long enough to ride bikes with me these days 🤣

Glorious day for a road ride.

So good that I took a wee detour on the way back and headed up to Cairngorm Mountain to take a photo of the snow on the Coronation Headwall.

You can make out the bottom of the "bike park" where they've started construction too.

@blokeuptheroad you need to remember your 9-iron next time 😉

Nothing as exciting as the 'alps' (or Cairngorm snow for that matter) for me, just a nice sunny, warm, sea-fretty, sunny and warm afternoon 😁 now sat outside the house in the sun with some St. Peter's 0%. The camera on my phone really doesn't do justice to just how bright and yellow the fields were. Simply amazing in the sunshine.

full on **** gear tonight- nice to be able to ride in t-shirt and shorts. Ride into paisley then through Glasgow. Meet a lovely celtic supporter who called me a dirty hun and kicked my bike because my riding top was blue.

22 miles; ave power 202w; loads of PRs - getting fitter.

Not an MTB, but at a push it does have 90s XC geometry and flat bars. Just happy to be out (only my second ride of any type since November).

Second ride of the weekend, after my trip to the Clee hills above. A curtailed whiz round Cannock with my son. It was planned to be at least 2 laps each of the dog/monkey to bank some miles as a build up to 'Heaven of the South' in a fortnight. My dropper died after a single lap of each though and I wasn't feeling fit enough to stand up pedal for the whole of another lap!

I managed to get over to Tarland Trails after work on Thursday for a quick couple of hours in lovely conditions.
The rest of the weekend has been thoroughly dreich. Thick fog, low cloud and rain. I finally got out today at Drumtochty and it was exceptionally muddy. I must be getting to be a better rider as I’m starting to enjoy muddy conditions.

A great 'Tour de Reservoirs' ride on Saturday avoiding all royal shenanigans. We bet on most red socks being flag shaggers so we could ride the kind of cheeky stuff that's normally the preserve of night rides. It worked out brilliantly as we rode empty footpaths on a Saturday and saw virtually nobody

Busy weekend with family stuff, took the kids out for a ride this morning round the local parks

Then managed to squeeze in a couple of hours round Woburn solo , was mostly dry too
I'm still shagged from tweedlove last week I think, so took it easy

Good road ride with my infrequent (both with young families) riding buddy, his turn to dish out a bit of pain on the final long drag through Glen Devon, my legs have been a bit empty for a week or two, not sure if I have rd.4 of the low grade lurgy that's still hanging around or if I've just unwittingly been overdoing it.

Highlight of the weekend was virtual handlebars on some beautiful (and apparently virgin) local singletrack discovered on a wee family wander. Unlittered, pristine natural deciduous forest with some quite exposed perfectly bench cut trail. Not sure I could even bring myself to take the bike back and sully it with tyre tracks 🙄

Celebrated turning 50 this weekend with a quick refresher at Twisted Oaks with Mrs Ready, before heading off to Madeira later this week. King Charlie was super kind in letting (most) people have the day off to celebrate it with me too

We have a nice row of big old military officer houses that have been boarded up for a good 30 years.
Complete waste but good for some post apocalyptic photos.

On a side note, the C5 is bloody awful to pedal without the battery. You can't fully stretch your legs out so it's like trying to pedal a BMX sat down.

There must be some kind of modern e-conversion parts you could fit to a Sinclair C5. I don't know what they look like under the plastic.

I bet you could have it popping wheelies down the street.

I've got my eye on a front hub motor, but the question is how lairy I go.. 12v 250w is standard and would keep it legal but they do a 52v 1500w one 😀 !
