Can anyone help me find the right angled headset for a Norco Range 2015? I gather this is possible now although I have forgotten who makes them! Original headset is Cane Creek 40 series integrated, tapered crown on Rockshox Pike forks. I seem to remember the company asking me questions I couldn’t answer and then giving up! Would like to keep the bike a little longer before making the move to an e-bike in a couple of years, the bike is so awesome otherwise and another 1-2 degrees slacker would get rid of any need to get a new bike!
Cheers,
Andrew

Works Components do a range of angle sets.
Although if you have an integrated headset (bearings direct in head tube with no additional cups) then I don't think you can do it.

+1 for Works, and a reiteration that if the bearings sit directly in the frame, your options are limited. I've got a Works angle adjust headset in my Tallboy 2 and it's done the job very nicely for years. Cheap way to avoid buying a new frame!

Note: They are pretty fiddly to fit as not only do they need to be pressed in straight like any other headset cups, but they need to be perfectly oriented too as they are (obviously) not symmetrical. I used string pulled across the top tube to align mine and even then I had a few false starts before I got it absolutely perfectly aligned and could complete the job. Not difficult, per-se, but definitely needs a bit of time and care to do it right.

It is an integrated headset but I thought there was someone making them for that these days.

It's the 9Point8 Slack-R you are after (if they make one that fits).

Need to have plenty of spare steerer length for that though...

Sounds like a good time to consider offset bushings as an alternative

It is the 9 point 8 one - thanks. I already tried offset bushings, they didn’t change the angle much and the upper one made the rear suspension really noisy. I kept the lower one but went back to original upper bushings and it is fine again - but this means I only changed the angle by 0.25 degrees! Was only 0.5 degrees maximum for my frame anyway.
Yes - I don’t have enough steerer tube length so unless I buy new forks it’s not going to happen!

Worth noting that even were you able to use a normal Works angle adjust headset, that also takes a bit more steerer. My Tallboy was definitely marginal afterwards and I had to remove all of the spacers to get it in! In the end, it was choice between "slacker" or "comfier" and the former won out 🙂

May not be worth the bother as I’ll have to find another set of forks 2nd hand with a longer length of steerer left, which a quick bit of digging suggests is not that easy!

I found the Superstar Components instructions easy to follow. They have a technical link to the terminology on the page too

So if anyone has a Pike, Lyrik or Fox 36 non boost 15x100 and about 19cm + of steerer left in good condition let me know!
