Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know there are loads of threads about Android app (and I've trawled thru them) but this one is specifically about security related stuff.
So, I'm after some recommendations about system setting as well as useful (but boring) apps.
Anti-virus/spyware?
Password protection/encryption
Useful utilities to keep the phone working sweetly (I've already installed Astro file manager)
Maximizing battery life?
Anything else I need to consider?
BTW: it's a HTC Desire running 2.1. I'm moving up from an ancient HP iPAQ running WM5 so don't really know Android that well...
I downloaded Lookout for free from the market, does spyware and anti-virus, seems to get recommended by others too.
