Anyone been?  Any good?

Off in the motorhome again next year and Mrs BF wants to see a lot of the villages around the Dordogne and Southern France and travel a bit more down the centre / west side of France rather than our usual route of Calais towards the Alps.

So thinking the Pyrenees might be an option for a couple of solo days on the bike mid trip. I like the idea of bike park / uplift type stuff.

Other suggestions always welcome too.

Bike Park is ace yes, absolutely ace.... We saw Bruni there lapping..  Tracks are good. Shop, buildings etc all good. Lift was desolate, very few people. Based upon that i'd put it WAY more preferrable than Morzine lol. But the town is a way down the hill and a bit of a weird place, it's not in any way 'alpine lovliness' like Morzine etc.

I'm a fan for sure.

Pal Arinsal. Car-park is HUGE .... Plenty of people stopping overnight etc. We didn't try the restaurant/bar but there is one present.  Shops are a couple of miles down the road.

It's a weird place as it's a pretty decent sized town/city at the bottom, lots of big shops and 1000 petrol stations. Then it's a 10 mins drive up the hill and you're in the absolute middle of nowhere. I believe town can be pretty strict/tricky on parking and blue zones etc.

Ride there last year absolute hoot. Tried chasing a pidcock time on a climb (he won by a lot of minutes) possibly one of the best trails I've ever ridden was there, like 5 of the best tweed valley trails stitched together and then repeated. Rode parts of the commencal trail but there's much better stuff off piste.
