You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
My first post here, so hi from a Norwegian currently living in the UK!
I'm looking for a 'toy' to be used for aggressive riding, ranging from short/fast trail to downhill-ish, and a little jumping.
I've got an XC bike, so comfort and climbing isn't a priority, but it should be able to do so within reason.
I've 3 candidates so far: Specialized SX Trail, Orange Alpine 160 & Patriot.
I'm 6'3" / 220, and need a strong frame.
Anyone have any advise on what bike would suit me better?
I usually prefer my bikes a bit smaller than what's usually recommended, and my Specialized HT is a 19".
For my use, would i be okay with a medium frame, on the bikes mentioned?
Appreciate any input!
The yt industries noton should be on your list, as should the kona entourage and the transition tr250
Giant Reign X
Absolutely love mine
Possibly a bit late in the year now, but see if there are any Orange demo days planned to have a ride of the 160 and Patriot.
Take a look at the canyon torque.
Spesh Enduro?
Canyon torque frx not available 'till april, if that makes a difference.

Brilliant all rounder
+1 canyon torque great ride fantastic value for money
You should definitely add a Cove G-Spot to your list. Strong frame and probably about the same weight as your candidates above. I've been using one for guiding on for the last season and love it.
If you'd like to see what I think of it I wrote a 'few' words over on my site: Cove G-Spot Review
