Hi,
I'm currently spec'ing my new bike and I'm looking at wheels.
Does anyone have American Classic 27.5 wide lightning's and if so what do they think of them?
Thanks
Have the AM's only but can't fault them so far, solid as.
My experience with American classic wheels They are superb!!
Was looking at the AM but can't seem to find a 20mm front hub anyone know if you can get a conversion
Thanks for the info. Looks like I've found my wheels.
James - I've looked on their website and it doesn't look like they do 20mm hubs
Matt I spoke to a distributer today and your right they don't
Spank oozy then?
Always good experiences with American Classic here too. I tested a MTB pair for STW a few years ago and I've got road, track and CX Am Classics on my own bikes. Really light, good value and they don't use stupid proprietary parts!
The only problem I had was with them sending the wrong wheels (rim brake version instead of disc version) when I ordered the CX wheels but they quickly fixed that.
I've got the 27.5 wide lightning ones a couple of weeks ago but I'm waiting for the frame, late in May prob. So I can't tell you how they ride I'm afraid.
Where did you get them? And how much if you don't mind me asking?
Hi Matt,
I bought them at Alltricks.fr and paid 699 euros. They have only 29" available now though
I was searching in google.de, google.it, google.fr... until I found them available.
I've the 1450g XC. Great wheels, £399 on special never missed a beat nothing loose etc for 2 years. They've been raced and battered.
I have 2 pairs of All Mountains and they are brilliant...strong and light. My 2013 ones in black red and white were a bitch to remove the graphics from. My 2014 ones are much subtle and akin to the lightnings. Got those from alltricks for £350 compared to rrp £600. Absolute steal!!!
