I run an old 26" hardtail in the winter slop which has a c. 2009 American Classic hub. At the weekend the (Shimano) freehub started to slip and by the end of the ride it was difficult to get any drive. I stripped and cleaned the innards which improved things a bit but it was still slipping in places just twisting the freehub by hand. I think I need to replace the ratchet plate, pawls and spring but obviously AC went bust a few years ago and my googling has failed to find any stock. Any bright ideas folks?
Moore and Large were the agents for AC in the UK, I imagine they'd be the best place to start enquiries.
When I was looking for spares for mine Clee Cycles were about the only place in the UK I could find apart from eBay.
Thanks both - Clee list a few bits but showing no stock online (apart from a new 29" wheelset) and I've emailed Moore & Large to see if they have anything kicking around taking up shelf space.
