Seen a thread from last weekend and remember a midweek one, but can't see anything current?

A couple of weeks off the bike. A couple of weeks coughing and snotting everywhere. A couple of weeks of feeling a bit sorry for myself. All blown away by getting out again, even if it was harder work than I'd like...

And a bit of lofi messing around in post.

Snapping, but not sure it counts as riding. Will be heading out later though.

At Hemlock Trails for dawn. It's been a while since I've been - lots of digging going on and the trails getting more gnar. I cleared a new gap only to be immediately confronted by a second smaller one: total forward tumble on my head. Great fun though.

Blade & Whites level at Afan on Friday - very foggy up at the wind farm.

[img] [/img]

Planned to do Cwm Carn trials Saturday starting before dawn about 0630 with lights but binned it off as it was raining heavily in favour of Quantocks or Exmoor - 17 miles & >3000ft of climbing around Porlock.

Did White's Level at Glyncorrwg Sunday afternoon, even the sun came out! It was rather chilly though so not all good. Did manage to get round ok though, thought it might be just beyond my current fitness level but I was fine, if a little slow.

It was nice to see their car park pretty busy with bikers, shop was doing well too. Hopefully the place will become a bit more popular again as it was really struggling pre-pandemic.

Rode over to the Buck Stone at Staunton today.
Very few muddy patches and trails running great .

Not one of my worst weekends ever.

Paddling Saturday on the Avon.

Absolutely mega day up the Malverns today.
Weather was ridiculous.

Nothing too exciting here, just a 90km solo road ride so pretty uninspiring pics but here goes.....

After 10 days stuck at home, I’ve been out today to prevent myself from snapping (mentally).
Lovely unseasonably dry trails, but bloody hard work.

Yes mate, I try to get out every other weekend - but riding a lot of miles commuting means I'm not always up for it!

I did a few loops of Haldon last month from Marsh Barton while they fitted some new tyres to my car - cafeside is a mess.

I too was at Afan and Glyncorrwg this afternoon, with Max the collie. As above, it was great to see the place so busy.

UkgravelCO: you don't *have* to wear plaid to ride with us, but it helps! 😂

Looks ace, I am very jealous.

Last weekend: new bike day! And then immediately into self isolation, so no riding despite lovely weather today. New bike keeps looking at me sulkily, which is fair enough to be honest.

45km Dartmoor loop. Sunny and springlike outside my house, grey, cold and bloody freezing on the moors.

Been off the bike for 4 weeks with a broken finger. Gentle 2 hour ride on the gravel bike on Friday, sooooo good to be back
https://ibb.co/CPrpr7Y

Then rebuilt my BigWig as a SS, got out for another 2 hours today.

Amazingly dry trails for January ...

Edit:

Ooh! First time I've posted an image since the forum stopped showing Instagram images!

FOrgive me if i'm wrong, but i don't know the area well.. but i think this was from another hill, looking towards Watership Down. We'd ridden past Andrew Lloyd Webers house apparently.

Trails were mostly great, a few sloppy bits, but overall, excellent.

Didn't have the HRM on today, but thought the first 30 mins was a bit harder than i'd have liked.... but after that i found myself and was cruising along happily.

Did have a Van Beer tho (I wasn't driving) which was very welcome.

So dry here, I can see from the pics up there FoD/Staunton like Spring. Be back there this week. Didn't ride yesterday but the lab very much enjoyed a long walk.
