I can't for the life of me get my rh shifter casing open to install the cable, taken out all the screws but it still won't come apart, is there something i haven't done? It's a shimano xt shifter with no window

There's a plastic screw on the opposite side to the point the cable goes in.
Once that's removed and if you have the shifter at one end of its travel the cable will just push out and the new one go in.
There should be a plastic screw by the shift lever, a Phillips screwdriver should undo that and you'll see the end of the cable. don't take it apart it will a bloody nightmare
Is that the really tiny one just above the 'up' shifter?
