You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
And if so, should I continue to?
I want a bike for the pump and BMX Track. Not big DJ stuff, I'm too fragile for that. I've got a perfectly good Dialled Alpine set up as a trail bike which I infrequently ride because knees and back. I could swap out the lyriks for short travel revs, lose the double chainring etc. The thing is - a shiny, new DJ frame is only 125 quid.
How are you going to get to the pump track?
My sidekick is a pain in the hoop to ride any distance.
If you've got the money, do what you like.
It’s never just a frame though, is it?
As above, if you can afford another bike and have space then carry on, but do be honest with yourself about what you’re planning to spend ... 😆
Just spend the £125 on a second hand Bmx. Pump tracks and Bmx tracks are Much more fun on 20” wheels than using a big bike. Much harder and more rewarding and the skills learned translate well onto the trails on the mtb.
If you have to ask.... 🙂
If the alpine isn't rideable for you then just sell it?
And spend the money on a jump bike or BMX.
Both BMX and pump tracks are 5km away, that's got to be doable. I've built enough bikes to know about the hidden costs. I've got a DP Freestyler frame in the cellar.
This isn't helping.
Edit - How suitable is the Alpine's geometry with 110mm forks?
Do it.
if you an afford do - why not?
