Something to do with Cedric Gracia and Production Privee.

old camping sleeping mat.I use this in addition (down entire downtube) to my rockguardz when riding in really rocky places! Doesn't look all that fancy though, but effective.

Old tyre does bugger all in the event of a sharp, Lakes type rock strike, it'll stop scratches, but not a dent or worse. Rockguardz are brilliant IMO, and well worth it when you consider the costs involved with carbon repair.

I wouldn't be as bothered with alloy though.

I agree the Rockguard is worth the 30 quid.

Saved the bike a few times.

Whats the best alternative if there isn't a RockGuardz for your bike.

@parling if it's a new model, worth speaking to them to get a mould done, if older less popular bike, then yer goosed.

RockGuardz sort of good.... Have one on my carbon Jeffsy.

Trouble is, it's way, way too short. All of their models are from what I've seen. Simply doesn't go up the underside of the tube bar enough in my opinion. Rocks can fly up and hit the tube well above the projector.

I think I will be be buying some foam mat of some sort and double side tape it to the invisiframe layer there.

Just ordered this closed cell foam mat to cut up.

https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLOSED-CELL-POLYETHYLENE-FOAM-WATERPROOF-INSULATING-FOAM-SHEET-1MM-12MM-BLACK/263717477138?_mwBanner=1&_rdt=1

Will be covering it's outer side in clear gorilla tape for extra strength and to make it easier to clean.

This is to extend the effective length of the Rockguard, NOT replace it.

Oh, to make it readily removable (the 3M tape I saw is called as "permanent" so much be a pig to remove.... I've bought this stick on (genuine) Velcro tape so I can take the cover off if I wish.

I like Rockguardz - I has to spend £700 on a new front triangle when a rock hit my Bronson.   I then bought a rock guard and I have had several pretty big impacts that have been deflected by it.   I ride in the Lakes and rocks are everywhere so its only a matter of time before something springs up and hits the downtube

What’s the alternative. Rockguradz don’t stock them for my flux carbon.  They don’t have the shape of the frame. .....?

Try Zefal down tube armour, 6 quid, offers better protection than rockguardz which were pretty shit imo.
