Just acquired an On One frame with a Smoothie Mixer headset.
The lower bearings don't move, trying to remove them shows them rusted beyond recovery, but I can't get all of the bearing holder out (seized to the cup). Is it worth carefully cutting the seized part out and trying replacement Superstar bearings (if I don't fubar the cup removing bits), or is there an recommended alternative mixer style headset?
Planning on running straight forks to start, then either straight or tapered depending what is on offer when I can afford new bouncy forks.
Any suggestions much appreciated!
Ps on a budget, so gold plated King stuff that cost more than the frame is out 😛
Sounds like 44 mm OD headtube, judging by your straight and tapered comment!
