So i tried some racematrix pads in my guide r's and they were great. Unfortunately they dont have any in stock any more so is there an alternative?

Tick...
I'm also interested as I have race matrix in my Guides...

Andy: how long did they last compared to standard SRAM pads?

I saw Uberbikes Easter discount and was going to get some spares for my Hope X2s but the are out too. I'm thinking of trying Fibrax if anyone has an opinion on those

I just installed a pair of the sintered pads on some X2's. Bloody brilliant so far. Would highly recommend and cheap as chips

I've got the Racematrix pads that come with the cooling fins. Done under 50 Summer miles before I swapped my Guides to new ones with the Bleeding Edge calipers which they don't fit...

So if your haven't got the bleeding edge calipers I have 2 sets of the pads with the cooling fins. Pm me if any use to you.👍

You could try the new ish Fibrax brake pads that Bird have had made for the Guide brake:

https://www.bird.bike/product-category/shop/components/brake-pads/

I haven’t tried them yet as I have a good stock of spare brake pads but they’re on the list next time I need to buy some.

I went back to kevlar, work almost as well at their best and better at their worst, pretty ideal I think

The racematrix are a fantastic pad and not surprisingly don't last as long but your getting great performance .
The UK made fibrax pads are equally outstanding

I never got on with Racematrix pads either so I stuck with my favoured SS kevlars until they stopped doing them. Now running a mix of Disco Brake kevlar and ceramic pads and they are both performing well.
