so I have some wide rim wheels on my hardtail which I'm looking to get some tyres for.
I know that maxxis do wide trail tyres but do any of the other brands out there do similar and whats recommended as a good also under as I tend not to swap tyres about.
Front and rear combo recommendations well ome.
Schwalbe Nobby Nic and Spesh Butcher both come in 2.6in.
Are the nobby nics more robust than The standard 27.5 version ? They seemed to be made of tissue paper.
Magic Mary Front, Ardent ont back. Done
I wouldn't read too much into the WT designation, IIRC Maxxis dropped the big (2.5") non WT tyres from the range, so it's just a simpler case of picking tyre sizes that fit your rims. Stick with the rule of thumb of never going more than 2x rim width (so a true 2.6" tyre should be fine on a 35mm rim). The same works for most brands/tyres, and almost any modern 2.5" trail tyre is going to be designed around rims upto 35mm.
The worst that happens is the tyre ends up overly square, which means the cornering knobs engage sooner, you can see this when people run 2.4" tyres on 50mm 'plus' rims, it still works, but I doubt the cornering is much to write home about and they must drag a fair bit even if they are unstoppable climbing in a straight line. so as long as you're not going that far the worst it will be is sub optimal.
don't have such wide rims lol

Apex snakeskin carcass version should be beefy enough, not ridden mine yet but heard good things from a friend in the Lakes.
